How it works – matching a seal from a photo or sample

  • 1. Send a photo or a sample – take a photo of the end (cross-section) of the old seal next to a ruler and send it to biuro@interfit.pl. You can also bring a piece of the seal to our branch in Warsaw or Kraków.
  • 2. Give us the dimensions – glass thickness, seal length (door height) and, for magnetic seals, the angle between the panels: 90°, 135° or 180°.
  • 3. We match it and ship it – we will identify the right profile with its code and give you the price and shipping cost.

How to measure a shower enclosure seal

  • Glass thickness – most often 6, 8 or 10 mm. Measure the glass edge without the seal using a caliper.
  • Length – measure the height of the edge the seal sits on. Our seals are usually 2500 mm long and are cut to size on site.
  • Type – check where the seal is: against the wall, between the door and a fixed panel, at the bottom of the door (drip seal) or where two doors meet (magnetic).
  • Angle – for magnetic seals: doors in a straight line are 180°, a corner is 90°, a pentagonal enclosure is usually 135°.
  • Colour – clear, black or smoked black.

How to replace a shower enclosure seal – step by step

  • Remove the old seal – slide a push-on seal off the glass edge; peel off a glued seal and remove any adhesive residue.
  • Clean the glass edge – remove limescale and deposits, degrease the edge and let it dry.
  • Cut the new seal – with a sharp knife, to the length of the edge. It is best to cut it slightly longer and trim it after a trial fit.
  • Fit the seal – press it evenly onto the glass edge from top to bottom. Fit a drip seal with the fin facing into the enclosure, and magnetic seals so that the magnets meet.
